It's a very nice fall day. The air is cool and fresh. The sun is shining. Bright colored leaves are falling from the trees.

Punky looks up and down the street. She hopes to see some of the other children to play with. 

She sees Kicker, Katya and Meerkeeta at the end of the block. Punky walks over to them.
 
"Can I play with you today?" Punky asks.

But the older girls say they are busy.

So Punky walks back home. She makes up a fun game of kicking the leaves. The dry leaves crunch under her feet. It is fun to make up a game she can play as she walks home.
